Each monthly tournament will be a standalone event, there is no annual championship nor any added money events.

We play to Default options are legal moves and no dice on checkers. However, players may play responsible moves and/or dice on checkers by mutual consent. Clock settings are 2 minutes per point plus 12 seconds delay, or shorter by mutual consent. Each player is allowed one 5 minute break per match.

Entry fee is £20 (no registration fee). In addition, subject to demand, there will be one or more optional £10 pools. All to be split 70%/30% winner/runner-up.

The Casino opens at 12 noon, registration 12-12:15, tournament to start by 12:30. We aim to finish by 7pm.

Anyone arriving after 12:30 will not be eligible for any first round bye.

Casino membership is free, it’s less than a mile from the end of the M602 and there’s free parking (remember to input your reg no at reception). By public transport it’s a 15-20 min walk from either Deansgate or Salford Central railway stations or from Deansgate or Cornbrook Metrolink stations. Bus 33 between Eccles and Shudehill passes the Casino but only runs hourly on Sundays.
